A wreck discovered in 2024

In 1942, many people saw this plane come very close to the fortress of Rethymnon then catch fire and disappear into the azure blue of the Mediterranean Sea just before reaching the mainland. Until very recently, news that marked an entire generation was slowly transforming into legend.... It was completely by chance that the location of the wreck of the German bomber was found by the Turkish army at the beginning of spring 2024. It was a great emotion!

a museum piece

At the time of its discovery, the cockpit contained gourds, numerous munitions, and equipment for radio and communication. Unfortunately, the site is regularly looted by unscrupulous divers... but the emotion and the story of these three German soldiers, associated with world history, remains very moving.

We will be very proud to show you this sacred place that has been dormant for over 80 years, and to tell you its story
